Museum of Archeology

Here you can get acquainted with the history of the emirate, learn about the cultural development of Sharjah from ancient times to modern times. Each visitor will be able to «visit» in the distant past of the emirate, seeing how the indigenous population survived and adapted to the environment.

Al-Mahat Airport Museum

In the 30s of the last century, air navigation appeared in the emirate, at the same time the airport was built. The building did not differ in large-scale dimensions, but it had all the functions of a full-fledged airport: the aircraft was filled with fuel there, and the aircraft were serviced. The first plane landed in Al-Mahat, arrived from the UK.

Fort Al Hish

The traditional two-story construction, built of stone, saman and corals, was built back in 1820 by order of Sheikh Sultan bin Saqr Al-Kazimi. The fortification suffered partial destruction in the 70s of the last century, at the moment there is only one tower left, which is located in the very center of Sharjah.

Al-kasbah

Art Museum

The museum is one of the largest art galleries in the Middle East, was founded in 1995. The building has 68 exhibition halls, and the interior itself is considered a work of art. All exhibitions of the museum occupy an area of ​​111 thousand square meters.

Blue Souk Market

The largest market in Sharjah, which is named Blue Souk (Blue Bazaar) thanks to the decoration of the walls with blue Arabic tiles. The market is located on the shores of the Khalin lagoon, there are more than 600 shops where you can buy anything you want. Carpets are considered the most popular item.

Aquarium

Large aquarium that allows you to become part of the underwater world and get acquainted with its amazing creatures. About 250 different species of marine fauna live here. The aquarium opened in 2008, located near the border with Dubai.

Arabian Wildlife Center

The only UAE zoo, where all the flora and fauna of the Arabian Peninsula are collected, from small rodents to large predators. Animals are kept in spacious enclosures where conditions similar to their natural habitat are maintained. In terrariums and aquariums you can see a wide variety of lizards, rare spiders, scorpions and even rare blind fish that live in the caves of Oman. For peacocks, flamingos and pelicans a special habitat has been created with artificial rivers and lakes. And in the pavilion «Night House», you can watch the life of animals that are active in the dark: foxes, porcupines, hedgehogs, mongooses.

Museum of retro cars

Here you can admire a large collection of vintage cars and motorcycles from the beginning of the last century. Most of the exposition was collected around the world, includes brands such as Mercedes, Ford, Packard and others. The oldest cars are the 1916 Dodge and the Ford Model T, and the motorcycle is the Ramses.

Flag Island

Flag Island is located almost in the center of the Khalin Lagoon. The main attraction of the island is the flagpole with the flag of the UAE, which is visible from different points of the city. However, there are also places for recreation - the famous Al Jazeera Park and the amphitheater, in addition to this many shops, galleries and cafes. The park itself has an artificial waterfall and two pools, there is also a bowling alley, billiards, and for younger visitors there is a mini zoo and a park with merry-go-rounds. Here you can also go boating or admire the fountain show.
